i just thought of this, but does the election of barack obama mean we'll never see a vietnam veteran in the white house? if so, hella weird, right? that was the war that defined 40 years of american history and, more importantly, much of american presidential politics—but no one who served in it has been elected, and now they're all too old anyway.
